A set of three Brazilian nesting tables from the 1960s, made with solid jacaranda rosewood frames. Each has a rectangular top and straight, square legs. Fitted brass sabots cap the feet, adding a precise metallic accent at the point where each table meets the floor. Their warm tone complements the rosewood while emphasizing the set’s slender proportions.
The largest table holds a removable wooden tray with softly raised ends, a sculptural detail within the otherwise spare design. When drawn apart, the three graduated tables reveal richly figured tops with flowing dark grain and warm reddish brown tones. The wood has deepened beautifully with age. Together, the tables form a compact arrangement; separately, they can serve as occasional tables throughout a room.
During the 1960s, Brazilian furniture makers paired expressive native woods with clear, functional forms. This set reflects that approach in its economical lines, adaptable nesting construction, and carefully considered details—from the removable tray to the brass finished feet.
