Our NYC Gallery

  • Found Collectibles is a furniture and décor gallery located in 225 West 36th Street, Suite 503 in New York City, dedicated to sourcing unique yet timeless collections from across the globe. Each collection tells a story particular to its time and place in history. Specializing in expert craftsmanship, we only feature small-batch, high-quality designs.
  • Every piece is an investment and inspiration for years to come. Our first collection consists of over 1,200 Brazilian midcentury-modern furniture pieces (350 of which are already available in NYC). The collection is vast and diverse, with iconic and historical pieces from design masters such Joaquin Tenreiro and Sergio Rodrigues, as well as less known designers of the same time, such as, Pierre Weckx, and Alexandre Rapoport.
  • We only work with pieces with a clear provenance and attribution by choosing them from trusted sources in Brazil where we cantrace their origin. Equally important, we restore the pieces to their original state, working with the same artisans who handcrafted these pieces back in the 70s & 80s.

The founder, Rodrigo Salem, is an avid collector with over 20 years of experience who decided to follow his passion and start the company in April 2022.

Rodrigo Salem - Founding Owner

  • Rodrigo Salem, a former tech executive with 20 years of international business experience and a passionate collector for over 25 years, shifted career paths 2 years ago and immersed himself in the world of Mid-century Brazilian Modern design as a gallery owner.
  • Coming from art collector parents, Rodrigo was exposed to the art world from a young age. This passion not only grew with time but was refined with his travels across more than 80 countries. Born in Peru, Rodrigo left home when he was 22 years old to pursue his career and dreams, living in Mexico City, Hong Kong, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and New York City (his home for the last 9 years).
  • Rodrigo personally sources furniture from various locations across Brazil and oversees the restoration process to ensure that each piece is brought back to its original beauty. Once restored, these pieces are then shipped to Found Collectibles gallery in NYC.

Jose Frances - Director of Sales

  • Jose Frances, a seasoned professional with over 14 years of experience in luxury design sales, hassuccessfully held senior consultant sales positions at renowned companies such as Avenue Road, RoseTarlow, and Swarovski. Over the past three years, Jose has been instrumental in representing contemporary artists including Bradley Duncan, Ben Medansky, and Olivia Cognet, helping them establish themselves within the New York City design community. Throughout the years, Jose has cultivated trusted relationships with prestigious design firms like Robert Stillin, Gachot Studio, and Workshop APD;as well as other industry players such as specialized PR firms, artists, and craftsmen across the US.
  • Originally from Uruguay, Jose moved to the United States in 2003 to pursue a master's degree in biology at The University of New Mexico. However, he decided to shift his career path after relocating to NYC in 2008
  • In March 2023, Jose took on the role of Director of Sales at Found Collectibles after crossing paths with founder Rodrigo Salem. In this position, Jose’s main focus is to establish and execute the commercial strategy with the interior design community, while also expanding Found Collectibles' presence within the broader design industry.
