Description

This pair of armchairs presents a measured dialogue between sculpted timber and tailored upholstery, characteristic of Brazilian mid-century design. The structure is articulated in solid hardwood, with vertical posts and stretchers forming a clear architectural framework that supports the upholstered volumes.

The arms are conceived as continuous, angled planes that wrap gently around the sitter, creating a distinctive diagonal gesture when viewed in profile. This sloped configuration introduces movement to an otherwise rectilinear composition, while exposed fasteners along the uprights subtly acknowledge the chair’s construction. The wood has been carefully refinished, revealing a warm tonal depth and emphasizing the grain without obscuring the crispness of its edges.

The seats are newly upholstered in a light, textured fabric with subtle tufting across the cushion surface. This detailing adds a restrained rhythm while maintaining a clean overall expression. The upholstery is tailored closely to the frame, reinforcing the balance between structural clarity and comfort.

Proportionally compact yet visually grounded, the chairs offer supportive seating within a composed silhouette. Their interplay of angular arm planes, softened cushions, and slender legs gives the pair a quiet presence suited to both residential and refined professional interiors.

Presented in excellent condition with refreshed wood surfaces and new upholstery, this set stands as a thoughtful example of Brazilian modern craftsmanship.
