Description

This pair of armchairs is defined by its economy of line and material restraint. A slender metal frame establishes the structure, while woven cane forms the seat and backrest—an interplay of tensile strength and visual lightness characteristic of mid-century design.

The silhouette is notably attenuated: thin, tapered legs support a delicately profiled seat, and the armrests extend in narrow, horizontal planes stabilized by angular metal supports. The cane is tightly woven, creating a continuous surface that provides both flexibility and structural integrity. Its warm, natural tone contrasts subtly with the painted metal frame, reinforcing the chairs’ linear clarity.

The composition privileges proportion over ornament. Every element—leg, arm, and woven plane—contributes to a profile that appears almost weightless while remaining structurally assured.

In excellent vintage condition, with minor, age-appropriate wear consistent with careful use.

A disciplined and materially honest pair—light in presence, precise in construction, and adaptable across dining or occasional settings.
