This one-of-a-kind Credenza is made in Brazilian Rosewood and features four doors, 2 drawers with sculpted handles, 7 storage spaces and a wonderful Marble top.The wood has been masterfully restored and refinished and is in very good condition. The manufacturing seal in the back of the credenza. 

This credenza, attributed to Joaquim Tenreiro made in the 1940s during his years at Laubisch & Hirth, the prestigious furniture firm in Rio de Janeiro, marks one the earliest modernist works in Brazil as he and other designers transitioned away from traditional European design towards a more streamlined style of design. This gorgeous piece comes from a private collection in Petropolis, a city 3 hours away from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

Joaquim Tenreiro

Joaquim Tenreiro was born in Portugal in 1906 but spent most of his life and career in Brazil, where he became one of the country's most celebrated furniture designers. He started his career as a cabinetmaker and set up his own furniture workshop in 1943.
