This exquisite pair of armchairs originated from a private residence in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. They are crafted from ebonized pau marfim hardwood and upholstered in white leather. The wood has been meticulously refinished, and the seats have been reupholstered to maintain the chairs in excellent condition.

Joaquim Tenreiro

Joaquim Tenreiro was born in Portugal in 1906 but spent most of his life and career in Brazil, where he became one of the country's most celebrated furniture designers. He started his career as a cabinetmaker and set up his own furniture workshop in 1943.
