Description
A generously proportioned Brazilian modern dining table attributed to Jorge Zalszupin. The expansive rosewood top reveals a vivid grain, with deep reddish-brown tones and the subtle variation that comes with age. Its softly rounded edges give the broad rectangular surface a refined, tactile finish.
Two substantial rosewood supports are joined by a long, low stretcher. Chrome-finished cross feet, capped in rosewood, bring a precise metallic accent to the warm wood and give the table its distinctive profile. The open base leaves room to gather comfortably, with seating for approximately eight to ten, depending on chair size and arrangement. For chairs with armrests, clearance should be checked against the table’s dimensions.
Polish-born Zalszupin became a central figure in Brazilian modern design and founded L’Atelier in 1959. His work brought craftsmanship and an inventive use of materials into furniture made for modern Brazilian interiors.
