Description
Crafted in solid jacarandá (Brazilian rosewood), this bar cart reflects the measured functionality and material refinement characteristic of Brazilian mid-century design. Its rectilinear form is defined by broad planar surfaces and softly rounded vertical edges, allowing the expressive grain of the rosewood to articulate the composition without applied ornament.
The façade presents as a continuous wooden plane, emphasizing structural clarity and visual restraint. A hinged, top-lifting panel opens to reveal a white Formica-lined interior surface—an intentional contrast that underscores the modernist dialogue between natural material and industrial finish. The integration of Formica speaks to the period’s embrace of new technologies while maintaining a commitment to craftsmanship.
Set on discreet casters, the cart is conceived for mobility without compromising its architectural presence. The wheels are recessed beneath the body, preserving the solidity of the silhouette while enabling practical movement. Storage is integrated seamlessly within the volume, with access resolved through the lift-top mechanism rather than visible hardware.
