Description

This chair is crafted from Caviuna wood, and features four slender toothpick legs, a backrest with straw caning, and delicately curved armrests that connect to the backrest. The wood has been refinished and repainted, bringing it to excellent condition. Designed in the early fifties, when Brazilian production was still very artisanal and limited in batch sizes, there are only a few of these chairs in existence. This model is one of John Graz's most renowned designs, despite his limited output as a furniture designer. The organic shape of the structure creates a visual illusion of lightness, even though the armchair is quite sturdy. This piece is truly a masterpiece of design.
