Rustic table in Wood, Unknown, 1970s - Lot 764

$22,000

Description

Author Unknown - This sculptural table is masterfully handcrafted from tree trunks, featuring a base composed of two hollow trunks. The tabletop is constructed from two organically shaped slices that are skillfully joined together beneath. This furniture style, referred to as "Denuncia," originated in Brazil during the 1970s to raise awareness about the deforestation of the Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica). Importantly, the wood used in this piece is sourced from discarded materials that would have otherwise gone to waste. The table has been polished, cleaned, and is in excellent condition. The red hue of the tabletop is its natural color, a result of aging that adds to its visual appeal. Additionally, a matching set of six stools is available as lot 765.
