Description

This set of six dining chairs, produced in Brazil in the 1950s, reflects the restrained elegance and structural lightness characteristic of mid-century Brazilian modern design. The chairs are crafted from caviúna hardwood, whose deep tone and expressive grain lend warmth and material presence to the otherwise slender composition.

Each chair is defined by gently tapered legs and a refined frame that supports a ladder-style backrest composed of three upholstered horizontal elements. This arrangement introduces both visual rhythm and ergonomic support while maintaining the overall clarity and lightness of the design. The seats are upholstered in beige leather, providing a soft tonal contrast to the darker wood structure.

The wood has been professionally refinished, highlighting the natural figure of the caviúna, while the seats have been newly reupholstered, ensuring comfort and durability. Each chair retains its original manufacturer’s label beneath the seat, an indication of its production origin.

The set remains in excellent vintage condition, representing a thoughtful example of Brazilian mid-century seating defined by careful proportions, material integrity, and understated craftsmanship.
