Pair of “Canoa” Armchairs in Rosewood & Leather, Liceu de Artes e Oficios, 1960s - Lot 208

$14,000 $20,000

Description

These delicate armchairs are crafted from Brazilian Rosewood, known as Jacaranda, and reupholstered in beige leather. The Canoa (canoe) model draws inspiration from the Brazilian canoes used in the Amazon, evident in the armrests that resemble canoe handles. The spectacular woodwork is showcased throughout the piece, particularly in the arms and legs. The aged Jacaranda features colorful veins, highlighting the piece's history and adding a sense of lightness to its design. The newly reupholstered leather is smooth, making the armchairs not only beautiful but also very comfortable. The wood has been refinished, and aside from minimal age marks, the set is in excellent condition.
