"Model 2" Armchair in Sapele Wood with Acajou Finish, Vlad Krasnogorov, 2025

Designed by Krasnogorov Studio, the Model 2 Lounge Chair reflects the studio’s distinctive exploration of organic form and sculptural woodworking. Defined by a continuous carved wood frame that flows seamlessly from arm to arm, the chair distills influences from both Art Deco streamlining and the fluid naturalism of Art Nouveau into a contemporary expression.

The chair’s architecture is anchored by sweeping curves and softened transitions that reveal a deep understanding of proportion, structure, and material. The richly figured hardwood frame appears almost bent from a single gesture, creating a sense of movement and lightness despite its substantial presence. A generously upholstered seat, suspended within the wooden structure, introduces a visual contrast between the warmth of the wood and the tactile softness of the upholstery.

Balancing craftsmanship with sculptural clarity, the Model 2 exemplifies Krasnogorov Studio’s approach to furniture as functional art—drawing inspiration from the natural world while articulating a distinctly modern design language.

Made to order with a 10–12 week lead time. Upholstery labor is included in the $15,000 price; clients must provide 3 yards of COM (Customer's Own Material).
