Description

This remarkable desk is crafted from ivory wood (Pau Marfim) and features an organically shaped top, supported on one side by an elliptical, pointed foot and, on the other side, a column that includes three drawers along with one larger drawer. The desk has been reinforced and refinished, ensuring it remains in excellent condition. The craftsmanship of this piece is outstanding, evident in the smooth round finishes, the well-designed drawers, and its sturdy yet lightweight appearance. This style of organic design was quite fashionable in Brazil during the 1950s, with Joaquim Tenreiro exploring it extensively in his residential projects. This unique piece originally belonged to a private residence in Rio de Janeiro. Provenance of this piece is available upon request.
