Description
This Brazilian modern rocking chair and ottoman set dates to the 1960s and reflects the refined craftsmanship associated with mid-century production from the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios. The sculptural frame is executed in richly grained Brazilian rosewood, with smoothly contoured arms, legs, and rockers that emphasize balance, movement, and material integrity.
The chair features a sling-style seat and backrest upholstered in a two-tone leather composition, paired with a matching leather headrest cushion. The accompanying ottoman mirrors the chair’s construction, with a solid rosewood base and leather-upholstered top, offering both visual continuity and functional comfort.
The original upholstery remains in very good vintage condition, showing minimal wear consistent with age and use. The wood surfaces have been carefully preserved, highlighting the natural depth and warmth of the rosewood grain. The set presents as cohesive and well-proportioned, combining ergonomic comfort with the understated elegance characteristic of Brazilian modern design.
Reupholstery can be arranged upon request, allowing the piece to be customized while maintaining the integrity of the original frame.
The Rocking Chair(600A) and Ottoman(600B) are available separately.
