Description
A strong and architectural pair of Brazilian modern armchairs produced by Celina, dating to the 1960s. Defined by clean geometry and material presence, the design reflects the era’s focus on clarity of form, proportion, and craftsmanship.
Constructed from solid Brazilian rosewood (jacarandá), the chairs feature a bold rectangular silhouette with wide, planar armrests and a grounded stance supported by four substantial rectangular legs. The richness of the rosewood lends visual weight and warmth, while the disciplined geometry keeps the composition balanced and refined.
Recently reupholstered in a plush, textured high-performance fabric, the seating offers a tactile counterpoint to the density of the wood. The light, neutral tone of the fabric contrasts beautifully with the deep brown hues and expressive grain of the jacarandá, enhancing both comfort and visual depth. The generous cushions and supportive proportions make the pair well suited for relaxed, everyday use.
The chairs present in excellent vintage condition. The wood has been carefully refinished, and the upholstery is new, with only minimal age-appropriate wear consistent with their period.
A versatile and timeless pair, ideal for residential or curated commercial interiors, exemplifying the strength and restraint of Brazilian modern design.
