Description
A sculptural and highly refined Brazilian modern bar cart designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, produced in the 1960s. While firmly rooted in Brazilian modernism, the cart reveals subtle Art Nouveau influences—most notably in the fluid curvature of the handles and the organic continuity of its lines—an uncommon and highly distinctive crossover that elevates the rarity of the piece.
Constructed from solid Brazilian rosewood (jacarandá), the cart features three removable trays combining rosewood frames with inset glass surfaces, offering both versatility and visual lightness. The sculpted bar handles are a defining detail, showcasing exceptional woodworking and a sense of movement more often associated with earlier decorative traditions, reinterpreted through a modernist lens.
The rosewood has aged beautifully, developing a deep, warm patina that highlights the richness of the grain and the quality of the original material. Retaining its original casters, all four wheels are in excellent condition, preserving both the functionality and authenticity of the design.
The piece has been carefully refinished and presents in excellent vintage condition, with minor age-appropriate wear consistent with its period.
A rare and elegant example of Brazilian design, merging modernist rigor with Art Nouveau sensibility, ideal as a bar cart, serving trolley, or sculptural accent.
