Designed in 1965 by Sergio Rodrigues (1924–2014) and produced by OCA, the Stella sofa stands as a mature expression of Brazilian modern design at its most confident and culturally grounded moment. By the mid-1960s, Rodrigues had firmly established a language that rejected imported European models in favor of furniture rooted in Brazilian materials, craft traditions, and modes of living.
The sofa’s sculptural base is executed in richly grained Brazilian rosewood, set on pointed, architectural legs that visually frame and support the upholstered volume.
