An original production by Found Collectibles, these contemporary side tables are inspired by the iconic Maracanã models by Giuseppe Scapinelli—an enduring study in proportion, material contrast, and sculptural restraint.

Crafted from reclaimed old-growth Brazilian rosewood sourced from mid-century demolition auctions, the wood carries a remarkable narrative. Until the 1970s, rosewood was widely used in Brazilian construction; today, such material is unobtainable through modern harvesting. Each table reveals dense, dramatic grain movement and tonal depth unique to aged rosewood—finished in a refined satin matte to preserve authenticity and natural character.

The circular composition is defined by a dominant outer wood ring, thick and architectural, resting on subtly tapered cylindrical legs joined by a cross stretcher. Proportions remain faithful to the original inspiration: the ring thickness, leg angles, and overall geometry are carefully maintained, allowing the silhouette to retain its sculptural clarity.

Set within the recessed inner circle, a round honed travertine top in a warm light almond tone introduces a quiet material counterpoint. The stone features subtle natural movement and is cut to sit precisely within the inner circular ring, resting on concealed wood support tabs. It is completely flush with the inner tabletop edge—never rising above the outer rosewood frame, which remains visually dominant. The travertine measures approximately ¾ inch thick and is finished in a matte honed surface, with no gloss, preserving a soft, tactile presence that complements the richness of the wood.
