Pozza Moveis, Brazil, c. 1960s. This five-chair suite distills a modernist economy of means: industrial materials and a disciplined formal idea combine to produce a quietly sculptural seating type. The design is immediately legible — an enveloping, U-shaped backrest that reads as a single, continuous arm-and-back element is held by a slender, tubular chrome frame, the whole resolved into a compact, low-silhouette profile.

Formally the chairs articulate a measured interplay of line and void. The U-shaped back creates a gentle wrap that defines the sitter’s plane, while the thin-profile chrome uprights and cantilevered base produce a visual lightness and a taut, purposeful geometry. Negative space beneath the seat and between arm and back is integral to the composition, allowing the chrome to read as both structure and detail rather than as applied hardware.

Crafted in polished tubular chrome with black fabric seats, the execution privileges material clarity: the frame is neatly formed and finished, and the upholstery is cut and fitted to present a sober, desaturated field that complements the metal rather than competing with it.
