Description

Designed by Peter Maly in the 1990s, this pair of armchairs reflects the designer’s characteristic exploration of form, material contrast, and visual rhythm. Each chair is constructed with a polished steel frame and a radial swivel base, supporting a circular upholstered seat.

The backrests are formed through a woven structure in black and white, creating a distinctive checkerboard pattern that introduces both graphic clarity and material texture. This woven element curves gently around the seat, providing both visual enclosure and ergonomic support.

The seats have been newly upholstered in gray fabric, while the frames have been refinished, ensuring the chairs remain in excellent condition while preserving the integrity of the original design.

A striking example of late-20th-century design, balancing playful visual contrast with a disciplined structural form.
