\\We’re honored to share that Found Collectibles was recently featured in a 1stDibs Introspective article spotlighting galleries that are helping redefine how audiences view Brazilian mid-century modern design. In the piece, 1stDibs explores a growing trend among collectors and curators alike: a shift away from focusing solely on big-name designers, and toward discovering the beauty, and craftsmanship, of work by lesser-known and even completely unknown makers.
At Found Collectibles, we’ve made an effort to uncover, restore, and promote these works that European, and American audiences normally overlook because they are less desirable in secondary markets. We have chosen to give them the platform they’ve long deserved, because while the creators aren’t known, the materials and craftsmanship are still of the highest quality.
While we are proud to carry pieces by iconic designers, we are equally passionate about those whose names may be unfamiliar but whose craftsmanship speaks volumes. Whether it’s a sculptural Rosewood armchair by Rino Levi or a Rosewood Sun Chaise by Pierre Weckx these pieces carry with them the soul of an era. These pieces, while less well known and less collectable still have a balance of utility, beauty, and innovation that continues to resonate today.
Thank you to 1stDibs for recognizing our work and helping us tell these stories.
