Joaquim Tenreiro- 1950. This magnificent dining table features a round top, cross bars and four curved legs entirely made in Caviuna wood and Caviuna veneer. All pieces are original including the screws that hold the top to the base which are made in gold-plated metal.
The table has been reinforced, refinished and is in excellent condition. The matching six chair set is lot 762. This one of a kind find was found in the city of Rio de Janeiro in the Ipanema neighborhood. Provenance can be provided upon request.

Joaquim Tenreiro was born in Portugal in 1906 but spent most of his life and career in Brazil, where he became one of the country's most celebrated furniture designers. He started his career as a cabinetmaker and set up his own furniture workshop in 1943.
