Description

Back in the fifties, most high-end furniture was custom-made upon special request for wealthy patrons. This holds true for this pair of armchairs, originally from a private residence in Teresópolis, a Brazilian city renowned for its modernist architecture.

The armchairs feature a hardwood structure with ebonized legs, springed seats, and leathered backrests, providing a wide and spacious seating area for exceptional comfort. The wood has been meticulously refinished, and the seats have been reupholstered by one of Brazil's top upholsterers.

Furthermore, each chair bears the "Tenreiro Arquitetura de Interiores SA" manufacturing seal, which can be found by opening the zipper underneath the seat (as shown in the pictures). This seal authenticates their origin and adds to their provenance and historical significance.
