This file cabinet was designed by Jorge Zalszupin in 1965 meant to address the growing demand for office furniture in the new capital Brasilia. The piece has three drawers with leather handles and is made in Brazilian Rosewood, known as Jacaranda in patchwork style.
The rosewood patchwork (collage using several pieces of rosewood, with different tones) was one of Zalszupin’s most characteristic traits. This was an initiative for the rationalization and use of left-over scraps of wood available at the factory. This desk has the original L’Atelier seal on the underside of the tabletop.
What makes this piece so special is that the woodwork can be seen from every side and that, making the piece stand out.
