Sergio Rodrigues was hired to develop furniture for some of the most important buildings of the new Brazilian capital, Brasilia, in the 60’s. The Amelia model was used to decorate several buildings including the Palacio of Planalto (presidential office) and Congress. The coffee table is made with Brazilian rosewood (also known as jacaranda), chrome-plated tube feet, and a rectangular 20mm glass top. The wood has been expertly refinished and the chrome has been repolished to ensure that the coffee table is in excellent condition. The glass top has two small chips that can be seen in the images. A gorgeous coffee table like this can be styled into any home interior.
