In the 1960s, Sergio Rodrigues was commissioned to develop furniture for some of the most significant buildings in Brazil's new capital, Brasília. The Amelia model, in particular, was chosen to adorn several key structures, including the Palácio do Planalto (the presidential office) and Congress. This coffee table is crafted from Brazilian rosewood, also known as jacaranda, featuring chrome-plated tube feet and a rectangular 20mm glass top. The wood has been expertly refinished, and the chrome has been repolished, ensuring the coffee table is in excellent condition. The glass top has two small chips, which are visible in the images. A stunning piece like this can seamlessly integrate into any home interior, adding a touch of elegance and history.
