This table was originally designed as a station for telephones in the 1950s. Crafted from Brazilian rosewood, formica, and metal—materials favored by several Brazilian Masters—the table features a seat for the phone user and a cabinet for storing phone books and notepads. The rosewood cabinet top was intended to hold the telephone. This piece reflects the growing industrialization of the 1950s when telephones became common in most households, merging functionality with the era's design aesthetics.
